Fico Bianco del Cilento

Fico Bianco del Cilento DOP is a superior quality dried fruit with soft, intensely sweet flesh, produced in the heart of the Cilento National Park. The tradition of cultivating and drying figs in this area dates back to the time of Magna Graecia.

The figs are hand-picked between August and September, when they reach full ripeness. Drying takes place in the sun on cane racks, following a method passed down through millennia. Once dried, the figs acquire the characteristic light color that gives the product its name.

They are then filled with walnuts, almonds, fennel seeds, or orange peel, and baked in the oven. Fico Bianco del Cilento is a concentrated source of energy and flavor, perfect as a snack or paired with aged cheeses.
