Amarone della Valpolicella

Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG is one of Italy's greatest red wines, produced from Corvina, Corvinone, and Rondinella grapes dried in fruit lofts for 3-4 months before fermentation. This process concentrates sugars and aromas, creating a powerful and complex wine.

Born in the 1930s from an "accidental" fermentation of Recioto (where all the sugar was transformed into alcohol, hence "amaro" meaning bitter), Amarone has become one of Italy's most prestigious and expensive wines.

With an intense garnet-red color, it offers notes of cherry in spirit, chocolate, tobacco, spices, and dried fruit on the nose. On the palate, it is warm and enveloping, with silky tannins. Perfect with braised meats, game, and aged cheeses.
