XXV Sagra del Porcino (Porcini Mushroom Festival)

The San Martino Cultural Association of Castelvecchio (Sante Marie - AQ) presents the XXV Sagra del Porcino on August 12-13, 2026 | Via Pordenone (formerly Piazza E. Galvaligi) From 7:00 PM until late night – Dinner only. In the heart of Abruzzo, among ancient alleyways, forest aromas and landscapes that tell centuries of history, lies Castelvecchio, a small gem nestled in the municipality of Sante Marie. Here, every year on August 12-13, one of summer's most anticipated events comes to life: the Sagra del Porcino, proudly celebrating its 25th edition this year. For a quarter century, this festival has attracted hundreds of visitors from Abruzzo, Lazio and Rome, united by the desire to experience authentic flavors, traditions and conviviality. The sagra is born from the commitment of the San Martino Cultural Association, with support from the Municipality of Sante Marie, but above all thanks to the love and dedication of its inhabitants, the ‹castegliovecchiani›, who each year open the doors of their village and their hearts to welcome all who wish to share this celebration. Walking through the evocative streets of Castrum Veterum, an ancient settlement dating between the XI and XIII centuries, you will be enveloped by the aromas of traditional Abruzzese cuisine and the warmth of a community that proudly safeguards its roots.
