Matera DOC

Matera DOC represents the wine excellence of the Matera territory in Basilicata, with two main expressions that tell the story of the region's character. The red, crafted from the Primitivo variety, presents an intense ruby color and offers a robust and well-structured taste profile, with well-defined tannins and good persistence. The white, produced from the Greco grape variety, stands out for its elegance: from its delicate straw-yellow color emerges a characteristic freshness, with mineral and savory notes that make it particularly well-balanced.

Production follows DOC regulations, which define the geographically suitable areas, authorized grape varieties, and traditional winemaking methods of the region. Matera wines are born from a territory with particular climate and terroir, which give the grapes a concentration of aromas and a distinctive structure—a legacy of local viticulture.

At the table, red Matera DOC pairs beautifully with red meats, braised dishes, and aged cheeses from the Lucanian tradition, while the white proves versatile with fresh fish, shellfish, and vegetable-based dishes. Both styles reflect the authentic wine character of Basilicata.
