Calabria Movie – Film Festival

Crotone is preparing to welcome the seventh edition of the Calabria Movie Film Festival, an event that transforms the evocative setting of this Ionian city into an international showcase for auteur cinema. From July 27–30, 2026, four intense days will celebrate the art of filmmaking in all its forms, from short film screenings to masterclasses with acclaimed directors, creating a fascinating dialogue between the big screen and the rich heritage of Magna Graecia. Conceived by the Calabria Movie APS Association, this festival represents one of contemporary Calabria's most significant cultural events, where cinema becomes a tool for territorial and cultural valorization. The beating heart of the festival is the international competition dedicated to short films, offering a privileged window onto the national and international filmmaking landscape, with a special section entirely devoted to Calabrese productions. Beyond screenings, the festival offers a comprehensive program encompassing exhibitions, concerts, and discussions on current affairs and social rights. This is more than just a cinema festival—it opens dialogue with audiences and engages with the issues shaping contemporary debate, affirming Crotone as a premier cultural destination in Southern Italy.
