On August 6th, the village of Caria, a hamlet of Drapia, comes alive for the 46th Edition of Sagra da Sujaca, the historic Bean Festival that has been celebrating the incomparable beans and other gastronomic treasures of the Vibonese region since 1979. An unmissable event for all lovers of rustic cuisine, an opportunity to rediscover genuine flavors in an explosive blend of taste, tradition, and folklore.

The Star: 'A Sujaca "Sujaca" is the local dialect term for beans, a humble ingredient but incredibly nutritious and versatile, forever the foundation of peasant families' diets in the area. The festival celebrates this legume in all its forms, prepared according to ancient recipes passed down through generations. It's a true tribute to the land and its ability to produce simple yet deeply flavorful products.

What to Eat and Drink at the Festival During the evening, beans reign supreme, served in various traditional dishes, starting with the classic pairing with homemade pasta. Beyond the beans, food stands will offer:
