Sagra Sanleota a San Leo di Briatico (San Leo Food Festival)

The most beloved and anticipated village festival returns to Briatico! On August 7th, starting at 9:30 PM, the San Leo di Briatico district invites you to its main piazza for the Sagra Sanleota. A fixed appointment for over 40 years now, this event brings together locals and visitors alike with the warmth of its community and an atmosphere that makes everyone feel at home.

The Star Dish: Fileja with Chickpeas

The evening's signature dish is Fileja con i Ceci, a recipe that embodies San Leota tradition and is lovingly passed down from mother to daughter. This handmade fresh pasta, combined with a rich and savory sauce, represents the essence of peasant cuisine—an authentic flavor that tells the story and identity of the village.

What to Eat and Drink at the Festival

Beyond the main course, food stalls offer a feast of Calabrese specialties to satisfy every craving. Enjoy: grilled sausage sandwiches, classic Pipi e Patati and Peperonata, French fries, traditional San Leota pastries, local wine, and much more.

The Evening's Atmosphere

The Sagra Sanleota is a true popular celebration where food meets music and fun. Live music from the duo Oras Anima will feature pop, indie, and the unmistakable Calabrese tarantelles to get everyone dancing. The evening continues with interactive karaoke and group dancing. The highlight will be the arrival of Mata and Grifone, the iconic giants by Mastro Micio, whose traditional dance will deliver a moment of pure folklore.
