Monardo / Latteria del Sole of Soriano Calabro (VV), a historic business founded in the early 1900s from the workshop of Domenico Monardo, 'maestro mostacciolaio', and now in its fourth generation. From the typical mostaccioli (mastazzoli) — honey and flour biscuits modeled in symbolic shapes, once donated to churches as ex voto offerings during patron saint festivals — production has expanded to include mandorlati, susumelle, torrone, croccante and artisanal chocolate (Monardo, Cupido, Monfruit brands). A craft that combines tradition and technology, with products exported throughout Europe and beyond.
