Grado (GO) – Sardelada

The Sardelada of Grado is one of the most eagerly anticipated events of the Friuli summer, celebrated on the occasion of the Feast of the Patron Saints Ermacora and Fortunato. This traditional gastronomic event transforms Campo Patriarca Elia into a lively hub of conviviality, where for three consecutive evenings visitors can savour the finest recipes based on sardelles, the most iconic fish of local cuisine. The event represents an unmissable opportunity to immerse yourself in Grado's gastronomic culture and discover the secrets of seafood cooking passed down through generations. During the Sardelada, numerous food stalls offer not only the celebrated sardelles prepared according to traditional recipes, but also other fish specialities that reflect Grado's maritime vocation. Each dish is crafted with fresh ingredients and tried-and-tested techniques, ensuring an authentic and memorable culinary experience. Among the most renowned specialities are marinated sardelles, grilled sardelles, and fried sardelles, paired with local wines and refreshing beverages. The festive atmosphere characterising the event, animated by visitors from across Italy and traditional music, makes the Sardelada a special moment for both the local community and tourists. From 10 to 12 July 2026, Grado prepares to celebrate its traditions through food, music, and togetherness. Food stalls are generally open from 18:00 to 23:00, offering the chance to dine in a magical atmosphere just steps from the sea.
