Festa delle Castagne e del Miele di Castagno a Valle di Soffumbergo (Chestnut and Chestnut Honey Festival)

The Chestnut and Chestnut Honey Festival celebrates its 45th edition in Valle di Soffumbergo, a picturesque panoramic hamlet in the municipality of Faedis fondly known as the 'Balcony over Friuli'. Organized by the local Pro Loco alongside regional partners, the festival enlivens the three middle weekends of October, honoring woodland autumn harvest traditions. Food and wine stalls feature freshly roasted chestnuts, artisanal chestnut desserts, local grilled specialties, and pure chestnut honey, complemented by the Enoteca di Valle offering tastings of Ribolla Gialla and fine selections from the Colli Orientali. A vibrant schedule of activities includes woodland walks with free chestnut foraging every Saturday afternoon, nature and caving excursions on Sundays, beekeeping workshops, live music, children's entertainment, and breathtaking panoramic flights by helicopter and hot air balloon.
