Ruda (UD) – Cros in Sagra

The celebrated Fried Frog Festival returns to Ruda, a tradition rooted in over three decades of Friuli cuisine heritage. This year, the event reclaims its authentic identity thanks to the ‹Cros in Plasa› association, which has decided to return to its origins by focusing the entire festival on the specialty that made this small Friuli-Venezia Giulia community famous: the irresistible fried frogs, prepared according to the most genuine local recipes. For three days, from Thursday 26 to Saturday 28 June 2026, Via Torre will transform into a place of celebration and conviviality where you can taste frog-based dishes, a specialty representing true gastronomic heritage of the territory. After years in which the festival had taken on hybrid forms by blending with other events, this edition marks a conscious return to its roots, offering a focused and authentic food and wine experience. The Fried Frog Festival of Ruda is the perfect opportunity to discover the genuine flavors of Friuli cuisine and to experience three days dedicated to tradition, conviviality, and the pleasure of good food in company. Gastronomic stands offer traditional specialties featuring crispy fried frogs, braised frogs, soups, and typical local dishes, accompanied by regional wines and Friuli sweets.
