Sagra dei gamberi

The Sagra dei Gamberi of Orcenico Superiore is an authentic celebration of Friulian gastronomic tradition with roots stretching back to the Middle Ages. River shrimp, already documented in the 14th century when they were used as a precious medium of exchange, form the beating heart of this eight-day festival of food, music and conviviality. The event's more recent origins evolved in the 20th century from the traditional "Festa dei Pirus" (Pear Festival), when the town square came alive with the sale of pears, fruit and sweets.

During the festival, visitors can immerse themselves in a complete culinary experience: specialized food stalls offer shrimp-based dishes, alongside specialties such as sliced tuna and weekend meat grills. The food and wine offerings are enriched by a wine bar showcasing the region's finest D.O.C. wines—Friuli Grave, Collio and Veneto—and the Young People's Stand with an extensive selection of national and international beers. There's also the Sweet Tooth Stand featuring artisanal cakes and fresh gelato.

The festive atmosphere is animated by a rich entertainment program for all ages: ballroom dancing evenings, contemporary music, theatrical performances, sports competitions and activities dedicated to children. Every family will find their own space for fun, blending tradition with modernity, in an event that celebrates the territory and its ability to transform local products into moments of sharing and joy.
