Sagra delle Rane (Frog Festival)

Along the banks of the Tagliamento River, in the heart of the Friuli plain, the hamlet of Rivis in Sedegliano prepares to host its traditional Sagra delle Rane, an event that celebrates authentic flavors and the conviviality of an entire community. Running from May 1st to 25th, 2027, this festival brings energy and passion to the village and represents much more than a simple gastronomic event: it is a moment of rediscovering local heritage and the ties that bind the territory to its cuisine. Fried frogs are the undisputed stars of the festival, prepared according to the traditional local recipe and served in generous portions that delight both locals and visitors alike. Alongside this specialty, food stalls offer a rich variety of dishes: fried squid, spit-roasted chicken, frico, Milanese-style cutlets, and prawn skewers, all accompanied by local wines, draft beer, and assorted beverages, creating a complete and authentic culinary experience. But the Sagra delle Rane is more than just food: the festive program features musical evenings with live bands and DJs, dancing on a covered dance floor, fascinating gatherings of vintage cars and Vespas, exhibitions of brick constructions, and a dedicated children's area with activities like ‹The Magical World of Prince Froggy›.
