This event celebrates the glories of the country's medieval past, when it stood at the border between the Papal States and the Kingdom of Naples, representing a crucial crossroads in Italian history. The event features four districts, identified by the four historic gates that once provided access to the town, competing in a contest rooted in tradition and collective memory. The prize is the drappone, an award honoring Jacobella Caetani, Countess of Fondi, who resided in Vallecorsa during the first decade of the fifteenth century with her court, bringing prestige and splendor to the local community.
