Sagra dei sagnozzi (Sagnozzi Pasta Festival)

The Sagra dei Sagnozzi in Riofreddo, scheduled for Monday, 16 August 2027, celebrates one of the most representative dishes of the local peasant tradition. This enchanting village in the Valle dell'Aniene, located on the border between Lazio and Abruzzo, hosts an event focused on the simple and genuine peasant cuisine of the past, capable of transforming a few simple ingredients into hearty dishes. The undisputed stars of the festival are the sagnozzi, a fresh pasta traditionally prepared with just water and flour, handmade and cut into a rustic, irregular shape. Throughout the day, this culinary specialty is served with traditional sauces from Lazio, designed to enhance its texture and authentic flavor. The event is also a perfect opportunity to explore the streets of Riofreddo.
