Sagra della Castagna di Manziana (Chestnut Festival in Manziana)

The Sagra della Castagna di Manziana returns to liven up the historic center of the Lazio village from October 16 to 18, 2026. Organized by the local chestnut festival association alongside the community, this event celebrates local chestnut heritage with a vibrant pedestrian route filled with food stalls and artisanal craft markets. The star of the festival is the local woodland chestnut, served as steaming roasted chestnuts freshly prepared over open braziers and featured in rustic peasant recipes, traditional regional dishes, and homemade desserts. The food offerings spotlight short supply chains and local agricultural products. Enriching the three-day celebration are roaming street performers, live music concerts, and folk singing through the village streets and piazzas. Visitors can also enjoy live demonstrations and hands-on workshops dedicated to ancient crafts, including traditional terracotta pottery and cheese-making.
