18^ Sagra delle Carni in Umido (Stewed Meats Festival)

The 18th edition of the Sagra delle Carni in Umido takes place at Campo Solare in Cantù, on via Giovanni da Cermenate. Organized by the Amici Protezione Civile Cantù association, a philanthropic organization, the event pairs traditional culinary conviviality with a charitable mission: all proceeds will go toward purchasing new equipment for the local Civil Protection unit. The gastronomic lineup celebrates hearty recipes and autumn flavors: dishes include braised donkey, jugged hare, wild boar with juniper berries, beef ossobuco, roast pork shank with potatoes, tripe, and Venetian-style liver, alongside sautéed mushrooms and chestnuts. Main courses can be paired with polenta, roast potatoes, cured meats, and seasonal cheeses. A dedicated children's menu featuring Milanese-style chicken cutlets is also available, while desserts feature fruit tarts and chestnuts with whipped cream.
