Ispra e le sue Fornaci (Ispra and its Lime Kilns)

The initiative 'Ispra e le sue Fornaci' presents a series of early morning hikes and guided tours dedicated to exploring the local history, nature, and industrial archaeology of Ispra. Organized by the Ispra Infopoint in collaboration with Archeologistics, this route is scheduled for July 13, August 17, and September 5, 2026, offering participants a scenic walk steeped in historic heritage with stunning views over Lake Maggiore. The 5.3-kilometer loop trail departs and returns at 7:30 AM from the Infopoint on Via Verbano 208. The itinerary takes visitors along the charming Passeggiata dell'Amore and the Anello delle Fornaci, winding through wooded trails where the ancient lime kilns—active until the mid-twentieth century—still stand. The excursion lasts around two hours, is rated easy to moderate, and requires advance booking.
