Sagra della polenta (Polenta Festival)

In Cermenate, in the province of Como, the Sagra della Polenta takes place as a traditional community celebration organized by the Parish of Santi Vito e Modesto. The event is historically linked to the religious feast of the Holy Crucifix, kept in the Church of San Vincenzo in the Parmunt district, the birthplace of this heartfelt local tradition. The star dish of the festival is polenta, a staple of Lombard rural cuisine, cooked fresh in the festival kitchens and served to spark warm moments of togetherness. The gastronomic experience takes place in Cermenate's Piazzale del Mercato, under a large covered marquee set up to welcome visitors.
