Gnocco Fritto e... la Festa (Fried Gnocchi Festival)

One of Mantua's most beloved summer gastronomic events returns to Castel d'Ario: from July 17-20, the traditional Gnocco Fritto Festival lights up the town's festival grounds with authentic flavors of local cuisine. The undisputed star is gnocco fritto—crispy fried potato dumplings—served with a generous selection of DOP cured meats and cheeses. But the table also features mixed fried fish, riso alla pilota, pumpkin tortelli, and pike in sauce: a culinary journey through Mantuan tradition in all its facets. This year the festival remains truly family-friendly: alongside vegetarian options and children's menus, little ones can enjoy free fun in the inflatable park while adults unwind with craft beers, cocktails, and granita.
