On Sunday, October 4, 2026, the Sforza Castle of Soncino takes an evocative leap back in time with the 13th-century Medieval Historical Reenactment. Designed around the principles of living history, this event does not focus on a single battle or political milestone, but rather presents an accurate, philological reconstruction of daily life in the 1200s, staged by the Confraternita del Dragone and Corte XIII secolo historical groups. The fortress grounds and surrounding square will host educational stalls featuring artisans and merchants demonstrating the techniques and secrets of ancient trades. Inside the fortress walls, meticulously crafted scenes and settings will come alive with reenactors dressed in faithfully reproduced period costumes. The program also features jester and juggler performances, guided tours, workshops for all ages, as well as medieval music and dance.
