The Festa della Lumaca in Matelica represents a fascinating return to the traditions of the Manozzini neighborhood, thanks to the dedication of young people who have decided to revive an almost forgotten historic festival. Taking place from June 11-14, 2026, this event celebrates one of the most characteristic dishes of local cuisine, bringing the authentic flavors of Marche tradition to the table. Beyond the undisputed star of the festival—the snail—visitors can taste a wide variety of traditional dishes enhanced by thematic menus ranging from street food to seafood and land specialties. Each evening will feature entertainment, live music and dancing with local artists, creating a convivial and festive atmosphere. Of course, Verdicchio di Matelica, the celebrated local wine, will not be missing, offered through a special selection that will allow food enthusiasts to appreciate the finest labels of the region. The event takes place in the heart of the Manozzini neighborhood, easily accessible on foot from Matelica's town center. Dinners begin at 7:00 PM each evening, with live music and performances from 9:00 PM onwards. Dishes are offered at accessible prices, with complete menus starting from €15.00 for street food up to €35.00 for tasting menus with wine pairings. To reach the event: by car via SS256 towards the Manozzini neighborhood (free parking available); by bus on local Tiemme lines. We recommend making reservations for groups of 8 or more.
