Giaveno Città del Buon Pane (City of Good Bread)

Giaveno celebrates the ancient art of baking with the 23rd edition of 'Giaveno Città del Buon Pane'. Organized by the City of Giaveno in collaboration with the De.C.O. Artisanal Bakers Association, the festival showcases certified local traditional breads such as micca, biova, mezzana, and stirotto, alongside the classic Grissino Stirato Torinese breadsticks, pizzas, focaccias, and baked desserts. Piazza Mautino serves as the heart of the event, hosting open-air ovens for live baking and direct sales, highlighted by the traditional cutting and sharing of giant breadsticks. The historic town streets come alive with rural historical re-enactments including manual threshing, vintage tractor displays, and craft markets with regional specialties. Completing the day are guided tours of Giaveno's historic watermills and lively musical performances featuring marching brass bands parading through the town center.
