Sagra del cipollino (Spring Onion Festival)

The Sagra del Cipollino in Quincinetto, located in the Canavese area, celebrates one of the territory's most iconic agricultural treasures. Cultivated locally for centuries and championed by the local Slow Food Community, the spring onion takes center stage at this festival dedicated to preserving and showcasing ancient farming traditions. Alongside the cipollino, the event brings together a variety of Quincinetto's traditional culinary specialties at a market showcasing small local producers. Featured De.Co. certified delicacies include tometto cheese, mortret, buffia (the local name for chili pepper), and the distinctive miasse—thin, crispy cornmeal wafers traditionally served filled with salignun, a fresh curd cheese seasoned with salt, chili pepper, and cumin.
