Carpino in Folk returns to paint the Gargano summer from August 6-10, 2026 with a new edition that solidifies its role as a national reference point for Italian folk music. In the charming village of Carpino, in the province of Foggia, the festival transforms piazzas and narrow streets into authentic stages where the genuine sounds of Southern Italy resonate. Unlike other folk festivals, Carpino in Folk distinguishes itself through its commitment to preserving folk tradition by pursuing authenticity: each selected artist represents a living custodian of Southern musical memory. The Gargano, a historical crossroads of cultures and migrations, provides the ideal geographical and cultural context where folk music is not nostalgia, but contemporary practice. The 2026 edition features protagonists of tradition such as Campania tarantella groups, musicians of Puglian black music, and interpreters of traditional narrative songs. The five-day program includes evening concerts from 21:00 to 23:30, morning folk dance workshops (10:00-12:00), and itinerant performances through the village streets.
