IMAGOMARE – Relational Media Art Festival in Bari Sardo

IMAGOMARE returns to Bari Sardo for its second edition, confirming itself as one of Sardinia's most innovative festivals. Hosted at the MAB – Contemporary Art Center, the event transforms this small Ogliastra village into a creative laboratory where media art becomes a language for dialogue with the territory. From July 25–29, 2026, the festival offers an immersive experience that transcends the traditional boundaries of contemporary art, engaging visitors and the local community in a shared journey of discovery. Under the artistic direction of Nicoletta Zonchello and with support from the Fondazione di Sardegna, IMAGOMARE brings together professionals from diverse disciplines: electronic engineers, urban planners, choreographers, and street artists collaborate to explore the fascinating relationship between body, space, and image through emerging technologies. Interactive installations, performances, dance, and electronic music interweave in a cultural offering that aims to democratize media art languages, making them accessible to a broad audience during peak tourist season in Ogliastra. The program combines traditional art appreciation with participatory experiences: guided tours, experiential walks, and immersive events allow visitors to discover how contemporary innovation can generate new meanings in public spaces. IMAGOMARE thus represents a model of contemporary festival where art becomes an instrument of transformation and connection between people, community, and territory.
