Festa Campestre di Sant'Agostino ad Abbasanta (Sant'Agostino Country Festival)

The Festa Campestre di Sant'Agostino in Abbasanta is an event combining devotion and tradition, unfolding between the town center and the characteristic country hamlet. The celebrations kick off with a solemn procession carrying the statue of the Saint from the parish of Santa Caterina to the country sanctuary, surrounded by traditional temporary lodgings known as 'muristenes'. The liturgical calendar marks the entire period with daily celebrations, the novena, the blessing of the 'muristenes', evocative torchlight processions, and the solemn feast day on August 28th, culminating in the statue's final return to the town. Alongside the religious rites, the event features a rich civil and recreational program organized by the 'Leva 1986' committee. The culinary offerings celebrate local flavors through the sheep and veal festivals (sagre), alongside the 'Binu e Sabores' wine and food showcase. The entertainment program includes folk shows, concerts by artists such as Tazenda, Lo Zoo di 105, and Zenias, DJ sets, 'murra' tournaments, beach volleyball, book presentations, and the traditional 'Sas pariglias de Santu Austinu' equestrian acrobatic display.
