Vermentino di Gallura DOCG is Sardinia's most prestigious white wine and the island's only DOCG. Produced in Gallura, the granite region of northeastern Sardinia, from Vermentino grapes that find their most intense expression in these terroirs.
Sardinian granite, broken down into coarse sand (arena), gives the wine a unique minerality and an unmistakable salinity. The windy, sunny climate of Gallura concentrates the aromas in the grape bunches.
With a brilliant straw-yellow color, it offers notes of Mediterranean scrubland, citrus fruits, white peach, and broom on the nose. On the palate it is fresh, savory, and mineral, with a long and pleasant finish. It is the perfect wine to pair with seafood, bottarga, and grilled fish from Sardinia.
