Sagra del patacò – Cicerchiafest (Grass Pea Festival)

In Licodia Eubea, a charming village nestled between the Iblei Mountains and the Sicilian countryside, the Sagra del patacò takes place as part of the Cicerchiafest, an event boasting over thirty years of tradition held under the patronage of the Municipality and in collaboration with Slow Food Sicily. The gastronomic highlight of the festival is patacò, a grass pea flour used as the base for a distinctive Sicilian polenta, served piping hot with sausage, broccoli rabe, and accompanied by croutons or homemade bread. During the festivities, the village streets come alive with a farmers' market hosted by local producers, offering the chance to taste and buy regional delicacies. The event also features a rich schedule of conferences, workshops, and sensory experiences designed to reveal Sicily's most authentic culinary roots.
