Festival delle Letterature Migranti (Migrant Literatures Festival)

The Festival delle Letterature Migranti reaches its twelfth edition, bringing the spaces of the Cantieri Culturali alla Zisa in Palermo to life. The guiding thread of the festival is the theme of happiness, approached in a provocative and political sense 250 years after the right to the pursuit of happiness was formulated in the United States Declaration of Independence. The event offers an in-depth dialogue through fiction, non-fiction, theatre, visual arts, and music, thanks to an international and intergenerational lineup. Alongside prominent figures from the Italian and international literary and journalistic scenes, the festival features the 'GenerAzioni' showcase, dedicated to writers under 35, with themes ranging from labor to intercultural relations, also engaging local schools. The rich program is rounded out by highlights such as the Translation Slam literary translation contest, the 'Gobettiana' space dedicated to Piero Gobetti, and a special focus marking the 800th anniversary of the death of Saint Francis of Assisi.
