Limone di Siracusa

The Limone di Siracusa IGP represents one of the most celebrated citrus fruits of eastern Sicily, cultivated in the province of Siracusa where the Mediterranean climate and proximity to the sea create ideal conditions for its growth. The most common variety is characterized by a thick, fragrant peel with an intense yellow colour, and succulent flesh rich in organic acids that give it the typical flavour balanced between sweetness and acidity.

Cultivation follows traditional methods suited to the Siracusa territory, with careful attention to plant management and harvesting, which takes place when the fruit has reached proper ripeness. The fleshy pulp and abundant juice make Limone di Siracusa particularly versatile in the kitchen: perfect for dressing fish dishes, preparing fresh juices, flavouring desserts and creating typical liqueurs.

The Protected Geographical Indication guarantees the authenticity of the product and compliance with quality standards linked to its region of origin, preserving an agricultural tradition tied to the coastal area of Siracusa.
