Sagra de 'La Pizza Sotto Lu Focu' (Pizza Under the Fire Festival)

Montefranco is preparing to welcome visitors for one of Umbria's most anticipated summer events: the Sagra de 'La Pizza Sotto Lu Focu'. From July 17 to August 2, 2026, the charming streets of the historic center will transform into a stage of authentic flavors and entertainment, where traditionally wood-fired pizza takes center stage. The event, split into two periods (July 17-26 and July 30-August 2), offers an unmissable opportunity to savor local culinary traditions in a festive and welcoming atmosphere. Beyond gastronomic delights, the festival features quality entertainment with live music evenings: bands and orchestras will perform nightly from 9:00 PM onwards, filling the historic center with dancing and fun under the open sky. Food stands will complete the gastronomic experience, allowing visitors to discover the most authentic flavors of Umbrian cuisine, from bruschetta to local specialties, paired with craft wines and beers. For culture enthusiasts, the festival's final period (July 30-August 2) will feature the photographic exhibition 'The 1900s in Montefranco', a fascinating journey through local history via vintage images that tell the story of the territory's transformations and traditions. Organized by A.S.D. Montefranco with municipal support, the event perfectly balances gastronomic tradition, entertainment, and celebration of the area's historical and cultural heritage. Admission is completely free; you only pay for food and beverages at the stands.
