Festa dei Frantoi e dei Castelli (Festival of Olive Mills and Castles)

The Festa dei Frantoi e dei Castelli in Campello sul Clitunno is the premier oleo-gastronomic gathering that kicks off the region-wide Frantoi Aperti celebration in Umbria. The festival celebrates freshly pressed extra virgin olive oil harvested from the olive groves of the Fascia Olivata Assisi-Spoleto, spotlighting local traditions, neighborhood oil mills, and scenic landscapes. The opening day of the 2026 edition, on October 18, takes place in the hamlet of La Bianca featuring artisan and local producer markets, guided tastings, and workshops centered around local cuisine and truffles. Outdoor enthusiasts can take advantage of trekking itineraries, bike rides through centuries-old olive groves, and footraces such as the Corsa dei Frantoi and the Trail Run. Additionally, a dedicated shuttle service allows guests to tour local olive mills, including Carletti, Marfuga, and Eredi Gradassi. The second date, scheduled for November 8, moves to the medieval setting of Castello di Pissignano Alto with market exhibitions, family and kid-friendly activities, cultural tours, and live concerts.
