Festa del Grano

Amidst the rolling hills of Umbria, in the charming hamlet of Sant'Angelo di Celle near Deruta, the eagerly awaited Festa del Grano returns each year—an unmissable opportunity to celebrate authentic flavours and rural traditions of the region. From the last weekend of June through the first days of July, this small village transforms into a hub of conviviality where genuine Umbrian cuisine takes centre stage. Gastronomic stands open every evening from 19:30, serving a different selection of traditional dishes each night. Organised with dedication by the local Pro loco and numerous volunteers, the festival masterfully blends nostalgia for peasant traditions with contemporary entertainment. The finest dance orchestras of Umbria are on hand to keep visitors dancing under the summer stars, creating a magical and festive atmosphere that captures the true spirit of a country celebration. A particularly enchanting moment comes with the re-enactment of threshing as it was done in times past—a journey back in time that allows visitors of all ages to understand and appreciate the hard agricultural labour of yesteryear.
