Palio Arnense

The Palio Arnense is an extraordinary historical reenactment that transports visitors to the heart of the Italian late Renaissance. Organized by Pro Loco Ripa in the charming village of Ripa near Perugia, the event brings the castle's narrow streets and piazzas to life with authentic colors, aromas, and flavors of a captivating era, where nobility and common folk compete in traditional games of the time. Over six days, the village transforms into a living stage where history comes alive through historical reenactment performances, authentic artisan workshops, and artists from across Europe. A sculpture symposium and a spontaneous painting exhibition enrich the program, while children can enjoy historically-themed games created especially for them. The gastronomic experience is not to be missed, with the Taverna offering local culinary and wine specialties every evening, allowing visitors to discover the genuine flavors of Umbria.
