The Sagra del Fungo e della Trota del Fiume Nera returns with enthusiasm to Borgo Cerreto, the most enchanting hamlet of Cerreto di Spoleto in the province of Perugia. Now in its 41st edition, this gastronomic festival is an unmissable opportunity to savor Umbrian culinary excellence in an authentic and convivial atmosphere. From August 12-15, 2026, the village transforms into an arena of flavors, where food stands open their doors from 7:30 PM to welcome visitors and food enthusiasts. The undisputed stars of the festival are two treasures of local cuisine: mushrooms and trout from the Nera River, prepared according to traditional recipes that carry centuries of Umbrian culinary heritage. This is far more than a simple food and wine event—it's a true sensory journey through Umbria's most authentic flavors, where tradition and quality ingredients meet in every dish. But the festival offers much more than food: starting at 9:30 PM, dancing evenings with live orchestras animate the summer nights, creating a festive and joyful atmosphere. The grand finale comes on Ferragosto night, when at 11:45 PM a spectacular fireworks display will illuminate the sky above Borgo Cerreto, creating an unforgettable moment for all present.
