Sagra della Caramella Tartufata (Truffle Candy Festival)

The Sagra della Caramella Tartufata of Rigali returns in grand style from 15 to 19 July 2026 with its 32nd edition. Organized by the local Pro Loco, this event celebrates one of Umbria's most prized products: the truffle. Every evening, starting from 7:00 PM, gastronomic stands will showcase local specialities, with special focus on truffle-filled pasta that highlights the unmistakable flavour of the local mushroom, creating an authentic and genuine culinary experience. The gastronomic offerings include traditional dishes such as tagliatelle al tartufo, truffle ravioli, porcini mushroom and truffle risotto, accompanied by Umbrian cheeses and cured meats. Each dish celebrates the organoleptic qualities of the truffle, making every plate a territorial excellence. Beyond fine cuisine, the festival offers a rich entertainment programme for the whole family. The opening evening will feature a theatrical performance in local dialect that recounts local traditions with irony and passion. The following evenings of dancing, animated by the best Umbrian orchestras, will transform Piazza Rigali into an open-air dance floor under the stars, creating moments of conviviality and fun. The traditional Barrel Race (Corsa della Botte) cannot be missed, now in its 47th edition—a folkloric event that has characterised the festival for decades. Participants in traditional costumes compete in this unique race, evoking the peasant rituals of Umbrian tradition.
