Annifo, a charming mountain village of Foligno nestled at 800 meters altitude, prepares to celebrate one of its most prized products: the Lenticchia dell'Altopiano di Colfiorito IGP (Protected Designation of Origin lentil). From August 10-15, 2026, the Lentil Festival transforms this corner of Umbria into a stage dedicated to authentic mountain culinary traditions, attracting food enthusiasts, families, and travelers seeking genuine experiences. For six days, visitors can savor signature dishes prepared with local lentils at the festival tavern, open every evening from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM. Among the specialties: lentil soup, braised lentils, pasta and lentils, and traditional Umbrian-Marchigian dishes. The Colfiorito lentil, cultivated on this plateau at the border between Umbria and Marche, holds IGP status and is prized for its delicate sweetness and refined texture.
