Festa del baccalà (Salt Cod Festival)

The Festa del Baccalà in Ronchi di Campanile is a celebration dedicated to authentic Venetian maritime culinary traditions. The undisputed star of the festival is baccalà (stockfish/salt cod), highlighted through various traditional preparations, most notably the famous baccalà alla vicentina, prepared following the time-honored recipe. Alongside this iconic dish, the food stalls offer a rich menu featuring regional specialties like sardee in saor (sweet and sour sardines) and crispy fried seafood. The offerings are rounded out with pasta dishes such as chitarrini with cod or seafood, gnocchi with meat ragù, as well as hearty land-based alternatives including foal steaks.
