Festa della Tosella a Gazzo

The Festa della Tosella in Gazzo is an unmissable occasion for lovers of Venetian gastronomy and the authentic flavours of rural tradition. Each year, in Villalta di Gazzo (Padova), the local community celebrates one of the region's most representative fresh cheeses: tosella, a delicate dairy product with a soft consistency that perfectly embodies the culinary heritage of the Venetian plains. During the five-day festival (3–7 July 2026), covered food stalls remain open from 6 PM to midnight, offering tosella in numerous varieties (plain, smoked, with aromatic herbs) accompanied by other local specialities: ravioli di magro, casunziei, DOP cheeses, typical cured meats, and Venetian wines. Each dish tells the story of the gastronomic richness of the Po Valley and offers an authentic culinary experience at affordable prices (dishes from €8 to €15). Beyond the food and wine offerings, the event distinguishes itself through its extensive entertainment and social activities. Every evening features live music from local artists, traditional folklore performances, and liscio dancing evenings animated by professional DJs create a festive and welcoming atmosphere. The weekend also includes traditional cooking workshops, guided tours of the local dairy, and a photo exhibition dedicated to the history of Venetian cheese production. Organised by the Municipality of Gazzo in collaboration with the local Pro Loco Association, the festival is easily accessible by car (free parking available) or public transport from Padova (20 km away). An event that celebrates local traditions and promotes the territory through its most precious gastronomic resource, allowing visitors to discover and appreciate the authentic flavours of Venetian cuisine in a festive and joyful atmosphere.
