Now in its twentieth edition, this celebration takes place from September 12-28 in the province of Treviso and offers a unique opportunity to discover how rural communities of Veneto lived, with special focus on corn harvesting and processing—a fundamental ingredient in regional cuisine. The highlight is undoubtedly the 'Palio della Polenta', held on the third Sunday of September, featuring a fascinating recreation of traditional agricultural techniques. But this is far more than nostalgia: the event also offers modern, adrenaline-pumping spectacles like 'power pulling'—a thrilling tractor and truck pulling competition that captivates audiences of all ages, with vehicles covering nearly 100 meters at record speeds. Among many attractions, local gastronomy truly shines. Polenta, the undisputed star, is served in all its traditional forms: creamy polenta in bowls, baked polenta with game ragù, fried polenta with Veneto stews. Volunteers from the Festival Group prepare every dish with zero-kilometer ingredients and recipes passed down through generations, creating an atmosphere of serenity and joy. The experience is completed by artisanal markets featuring local products, vintage exhibitions telling the area's agricultural history, traditional and modern dance evenings, and a climbing pole competition for younger visitors.
