Festa del Maron - Valrovina a Bassano (Chestnut Festival)

The Festa del Maron returns to liven up Valrovina, a hillside hamlet of Bassano del Grappa, celebrating its 52nd edition. Founded in 1974 and traditionally held around mid-October, this event honors the local sweet chestnut and the classic autumnal culinary traditions of the Venetian foothills. Kicking off on Friday evening, the festival features dedicated roasting stations where roasted chestnuts are prepared over open fires by locals in traditional period costumes. The food offerings include a vibrant food pavilion serving traditional dishes and local wine, a dedicated wine bar, and snack areas. On Sundays, the village comes alive around Contrà Chiesa with artisan markets, live music and DJ sets, charity raffles, exhibitions, and engaging cultural and recreational activities for all ages.
