Festa della Trebbiatura e Aratura (Threshing and Ploughing Festival)

The Festa della Trebbiatura e Aratura in Lazise offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the rural past of the Veneto region, rediscovering the rhythms and crafts that characterized peasant life for centuries. From August 14-16, 2026, in the charming Parolotta area, vintage agricultural machines will return to work the fields, transforming the landscape into a living museum where history comes alive amid the roar of vintage engines and the scent of earth. Three days packed with activities for all ages: from spectacular threshing demonstrations to fascinating ploughing with historic equipment from the 1930s-1960s, each moment offers an opportunity to understand the toil and dedication of farmers of yesteryear. Families can participate in interactive workshops (grain processing, traditional ploughing techniques, discovery of historic crops), observe up close the workings of these extraordinary agricultural machines, and meet experts in Venetian agricultural history, while adults can be enchanted by nostalgia and artisanal craftsmanship. Completing the experience is a carefully curated selection of food stalls celebrating authentic flavors of local tradition: polenta, risotto, DOP cheeses, and wines from the Colli Veronesi, accompanied by live music from local artists who set the festive mood throughout the days. The event is organized by the Municipality of Lazise in collaboration with the Association of Conservators of Venetian Rural Traditions and supported by local partners dedicated to enhancing agricultural heritage. It is an invitation to slow down, reconnect with rural roots, and celebrate the ingenuity and industriousness that have built our territory.
