The Chestnut Festival in Durlo di Crespadoro returns for its 47th edition, organized by the Associazione Durlo 86 with the patronage of the Municipality of Crespadoro and the support of the Veneto Region. The festival celebrates the prized autumn fruit of the Lessini mountains, kicking off with the conference 'Chestnut Cultivation in the Vicentine Prealps', followed by a convivial gathering. The weekend program offers numerous ways to explore the alpine territory, featuring guided hikes, immersive forest bathing experiences (Shinrin-yoku), historic photo exhibitions, and live musical entertainment. Sunday brings Holy Mass, local craft and food markets, traditional wooden games for children, and stands brimming with roasted chestnuts and chestnut-based desserts. Throughout the celebration, food stands will serve a mouthwatering menu of local specialties, including classic gnocchi 'strassà' served with fioreta cheese, truffles, meat ragù, or butter and sage, as well as polenta, stew, roasted chestnuts ('marroni brustolà'), and mulled wine, with takeout options also available.
