John Fante Festival

The John Fante Festival "Il dio di mio padre" (The God of My Father) is an unmissable event for lovers of literature and American culture. Every year, from August 20-23, the charming village of Torricella Peligna in Abruzzo transforms into a stage dedicated to the great Italian-American writer John Fante, author of masterpieces such as "Ask the Dust" and "The Dream of Bunker Hill". The festival celebrates Fante's extraordinary literary legacy, a fundamental figure in twentieth-century literature who was able to tell with intensity and authenticity the experience of Italian immigration to America.

During the four days of the festival, Torricella Peligna welcomes readers, writers, scholars and enthusiasts from all over Italy and abroad.
