Corsa delle Scappavie (Homemade Soapbox Cart Race)

The second edition of the Corsa delle Scappavie Angolane takes center stage in Città Sant'Angelo, an event promising adrenaline, fun, and a pinch of nostalgia. Organized by the Associazione Meccaniche Divine with the patronage of the Municipality, the event will see participants challenge each other in an exciting downhill race along Corso Vittorio Emanuele aboard special handcrafted 'scappavie' (soapbox carts). This initiative aims to be a modern reenactment of the traditional descents of local youngsters from the past, blending memories of yesteryear with the thrill of a unique competition that celebrates local creativity and history. At the end of the races, the celebration moves to the dining table to wrap up in style with a lively Pizza Party.
