Sagra della Frittella pennese (Pennese Fried Dough Festival)

In the heart of the Teramo hills, Penna Sant'Andrea renews the tradition of the Sagra della Frittella Pennese, one of the most beloved and eagerly awaited events of the local summer. The festival celebrates a culinary symbol of the area, offering a convivial gathering immersed in authentic Abruzzese traditions. The undisputed stars of the food stands are the famous 'frittelle pennesi' (fried dough), made according to the historic local recipe and served either plain or richly filled. Completing the culinary lineup are other regional classics, such as grilled arrosticini skewers, stuffed sandwiches, and french fries. Alongside the gourmet food, the festival is enriched by the International Folklore Meeting.
