La sfida del torchio

The ‹Sfida del Torchio› is an immersive experience at the heart of Basilicata's wine-making tradition, where competition among the 12 municipalities of Vulture becomes an opportunity to celebrate centuries of rural knowledge. Over three days of festivities in Rionero in Vulture, the territory transforms into a vast open-air workshop where the processes of wine production are recreated through games, traditional costumes, and period tools, evoking the authentic atmosphere of a not-so-distant past. But the true magic lies in the gastronomic journey the event offers: over 20 typical dishes of Lucanian cuisine meet in the region's largest open-air restaurant, where each municipality presents its signature dish accompanied by free tastings of local wines. An authentic celebration of the flavors and values of a community that honors its roots.
