Viggiano Jazz returns for its 22nd edition with a world-class musical lineup that confirms the festival as one of the leading events in Basilicata's jazz scene. Set against the enchanting backdrop of Piazza Regina delle Genti Lucane in the heart of Basilicata, this two-evening celebration features refined music ranging from international jazz fusion to more traditional compositions, attracting jazz enthusiasts and connoisseurs from across Italy. The opening night, Saturday July 18, is dedicated to ‹Fusion Experience› and features internationally renowned artists including Dave Weckl, Richard Bona, Ciro Manna, and Mica Lecoq, who bring a contemporary musical language blending jazz with world music elements and improvisation. On Sunday July 19, the stage welcomes legendary Italian double bassist Giovanni Tommaso, a living legend of Italian jazz, performing with the Apogeo Quintet in a program combining original compositions, free improvisation, and sophisticated interpretations of the jazz repertoire.
