Festa del Fungo e dei prodotti della montagna (Mushroom and Mountain Produce Festival)

Mammola hosts the 26th edition of the Festa del Fungo e dei prodotti della montagna, an autumn festival celebrating the authentic flavors and traditions of Aspromonte. Organized by the Associazione Mammolese Amici del Fungo in collaboration with the Municipality of Mammola and the local Pro Loco, the event centers around food and wine tasting routes open for both lunch and dinner. Visitors can savor dishes featuring porcini mushrooms, such as homemade pasta, specialty beans, savory fritters, rustic potatoes, and roasted chestnuts. A dedicated street food area serves sandwiches loaded with sausage or the town's famed stockfish ('stocco') paired with mushrooms, alongside kid-friendly options. The festival program also features an exhibition fair highlighting regional Calabrian delicacies and a fascinating mycological exhibit. Live folk music and traditional dance performances by the iconic giant effigies ('Balli dei Giganti') provide vibrant entertainment throughout the tastings.
